Carrying out the activity:
Have children place tissue paper pieces in any pattern they chose on the contact paper on the inside of their frame.  Cover other frame with contact paper.  Using glue stick, put some glue on the empty frame (on side that has sticky part of contact.  Carefully put the two frames together.

Activity name:
Doily Snowman

Materials needed:
Round doilies in three different sizes
Small black buttons
Black, brown, orange, and blue (or other colors of your choice) construction
White glue
Scissors

Preparation:
Cut out (or have children cut out) black hats and "coal" for mouth, orange triangle noses, brown twig shaped arms, and blue scarves.

Carrying out the activity:
Form the snowman by using the three doilies. Glue on button eyes, carrot nose, hat, mouth, arms, and scarf.

Activity name:
Rice Snowman

Materials needed:
White, black, brown, orange, red, and blue construction paper
Uncooked white rice
White glue
Scissors

Preparation:
Cut out (or have children cut out) three white circles of varying sizes; black hats, eyes, and "coal" for mouth; orange triangle noses; brown twig shaped arms; and red scarves.

Carrying out the activity:
Glue the three construction paper circles on the blue paper to form the snowman. Apply glue to the outside edges of the snowman. Sprinkle glue with rice. Tilt picture to slide off excess rice. Glue on button eyes, carrot nose, hat, arms, and scarf. When snowman is complete, dot glue around the snowman in the "sky" and sprinkle with rice to form "snow". Cover bottom of paper with glue, sprinkle with rice for a snowy ground for your snowman to stand on.

CD Snowman  (Idea sent in by Sandra)

Materials needed:
Two CD's (you could use those AOL ones that come in your mail)
A hot glue gun to glue the CD's together
Some white glue
Construction paper
Yarn or fabric
Cotton
2 bendable straws

Preparation:
Cut out and prepare your snowman's hat eyes, buttons, nose, etc.

Carrying out the activity:
You could make it anyway you want...using whatever colors, or materials to make the buttons, eyes, and hat. They would make good window sun catchers as well...when the sun reflects off the CD it'll make a cool effect.
