Thanksgiving Activities
Activity name:
Candy-copia
Materials needed:
Piece of white paper
Pencil or pen
Crayons or markers
White glue
Wonka Runts candies
Preparation:
Draw a cornucopia shape onto the piece of paper. Or, if you'd like,
you can print one from the
coloring corner.
Carrying out the
activity:
Color the cornucopia. Then, glue on some Runts candies on and around
the opening.
Activity name:
Activity Turkey
Materials needed:
White poster board
Markers
Crayons
Tape
Orange, yellow, and brown construction paper
Preparation:
Draw a turkey without feathers on the poster
board. Color the turkey. Tape the picture to the wall. Make feathers out
of construction paper. Write messages on the backs of each feather such as
“clap your hands ten times” or “touch your nose with both thumbs”. Attach
the feathers to the turkey.
Carrying out the
activity:
Have one child pluck a feather from the
turkey. Have the children do what the message says. Have another child
pluck a feather, etc.
This can be a varied
activity. For instance, make a tree for Christmas and write on the back of
the ornaments.

Thankful Feast
Materials needed:
None
Preparation:
Have the children tell you what foods they
are thankful for.
Carrying out the
activity:
Make or bring in the children's thankful
foods and have a feast. If desired, have the children make colorful table
decorations for their feast.

Thankful Turkey
Materials needed:
White poster board
Markers
Crayons
Tape
Orange, yellow, and brown construction paper
Preparation:
Draw a featherless turkey on the poster
board. Color the turkey. Cut out feathers from the construction paper.
Carrying out the
activity:
Have the children tell you what they are
thankful for. Using one feather per child, write what they say on a
feather. You can use their names on the feathers too if you wish such as
"Sami is thankful for Mommy and Daddy." When all of the feathers are
complete, attach them to the turkey and display for all to see.
