Activity name:
Duck Footprints

Materials needed:
Orange paint
White construction paper
Spatula
Paper plate

Preparation:
Put some paint onto a paper plate.

Carrying out the activity:
Have the children dip a spatula into the orange paint.  Have them stamp the paper with the painted spatula to make duck footprints.

Activity name:
Craft Stick Barn

Materials needed:
Piece of white cardstock (adds support to the activity)
Small craft sticks
Red and black paint
White glue

Preparation:
For younger children, draw an outline of a barn onto the piece of white cardstock.

Carrying out the activity:
Have the children glue some craft sticks horizontally onto their paper for the body of the barn.  Have them glue on two craft sticks onto the top coming to a point to form the roof.

Have them paint the body red and the roof (including the blank space inside the sticks) black.

Another Idea ~
You can also use this to make a log cabin (painted brown) for Lincoln's birthday.

Activity name:
Corn Cob Painting

Materials needed:
White construction paper
Paint
Corn cobs (have a variety - some dried with kernels still attached, some dried with kernels removed, some dried and cut in half)
Paper plate

Preparation:
Put some paint onto a paper plate.

Carrying out the activity:
Have the children roll and dip their corn cobs into the paint and then roll or stamp them onto their paper.
