Chubbie Cubbie's Evaporation Experiments
Activity name:
Sun or Shade?
Materials needed:
Water
Two identical clear jars (or glasses)
Masking tape
Measuring cup
Preparation:
Put an equal amount of water in each jar. Place a piece of masking
tape on the outside to mark the level of the water.

Water (cold and hot)
Two identical clear jars (or glasses)
Masking tape
Measuring cup

sure they contain equal amounts of water. Place a piece of masking
tape on the outside to mark the level of the water.
Carrying out the
activity:
Place the jars side by side on a table or counter. Have the children
predict which jar will evaporate first or if they think it will be at the
same rate. Were they right?
